Raleigh, NC – Forthright Engineering of Raleigh, North Carolina was awarded a $150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to develop technology related to a Heat Pipe for Ground Source Heat Pump. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I project will investigate the development of an earth heat exchanger that has a lower installation cost, lower operating cost, and smaller footprint than the currently available ground source heat pumps.
